Precision Tower 7910, questions

Hi guys,

Just today I got myself a Precision Tower 7910. Moving from a Mac Pro 2009.

Can I use Mac Pro memory that I have?
32GB, Samsung M393B1K70CH0-CH9Q5 8GB (1X8GB) 1333MHZ PC3-10600R ECC REGISTERED CL9 DUAL RANK X4 1.5v DDR3 SDRAM 240-PIN RDIMM

According to the Crucial Memory site, this uses DDR4 memory.

And, here is the Dell specs

Hi there thanks for the answer i have few more question

1 - I only have one cpu for now is there restriction how many graphic cards i can use with one cpu

2- Can i populate other memory slots where cpu is not present or only where cpu is present

Hi piz001,

Graphics cards aren't reliant on the number of CPUs in the system so no restrictions. EDIT: The two PCI slots (CPU2_SLOT1 and CPU2_SLOT2) can only be used when the 2nd CPU is populated.

The memory slots are assigned to each CPU so any DIMMs added to the second CPUs slots will not be used.
