power button blinks orange (PSU)

power button blinks orange.

my power supply goes off everytime i turn on by shorting green and black wire,how can i fix it?

Dell pc that won't turn on, Chances are that you have a power supply problem. Most of the time the power light will be flashing AMBER.

NON EPS12V POWER SUPPLIES especially $29 or less will not work.

If the power light is blinking amber, the computer is receiving electrical power, but an internal power problem might exist.

Ensure that the voltage selection switch is set to match the AC power at your location, if applicable.


Ensure that the processor power cable is securely connected to the system board
(see the "System Board Components" section for your computer).

i got it fixed by shorting green wire with case(body)

also tried replacing psu with working one

my pc

DELL Optiplex GX520

Pentium 4

(512*2) MB ddr2 Ram
