Install a 3rd Hard Drive in an Inspiron 3847?
I have an Inspiron 3847 in which I installed a SSD as the primary and moved the existing HDD to the secondary drive position. I am wondering if anyone has installed a third HDD (or SSD) using the Sata and power cables intended for the optional secondary optical drive? Thanks.

The SATA data and power cables are all the same. Doesn't matter what type of drive you use them on.
As long as you have an open SATA connection on the motherboard, you can add a 3rd drive. You will have to buy an internal 3.5" to 5.25" bay adapter kit so you can mount the 3.5" hard drive inside the empty 5.25" DVD/CD bay.
