A B C D LED's on case front -- what are these?

Hi, can anyone tell me what the little A B C D lights on the front of the case mean? do they serve a purpose? Can't find the answer to this seemingly mindless question... Thanks.

Depending on your system they are used in various combinations of colors and sequence to provide the user a point of reference to diagnose issues arising from error encountered by the computer.

All green indicates a healthy system, while combinations of other color patterns indicate errors; a template of light status is included with the system’s document that correlates A B C D light patterns with various system errors.
