Dell Mobile Connect is open in another window

Dell Mobile Connect (DMC) was working and then without warning it was not. It presented the following message with a yellow triangle, "Dell Mobile Connect is open in another window—Use Dell Mobile Connect in this window." It provided one action option, "USE IN THIS WINDOW," but when selected, the DMC dashboard flickers and the problem persists. I verified that there is only one window open on the screen, but the message persists. I am a novice (and elderly) and don't know what actions or steps to take to solve this issue. Please help.

I provide the following support information to assist with troubleshooting:

PC: DELL XPS 8930, i7-9700 CPU @3GHz (8 Cores), 64-bits, Windows 10 Pro, 16GB Memory

DMC: Dell Mobile Connect-NEW, Screenovate Technologies, Version:u:..10192/c:4.0.6072.0, Release Date 1/13/2021, 68.28MB

[The NEW DMC and NEW DMC Companion are installed on my PC and Samsung Note 10 respectively.]

I'm having this exact same problem. DMC is not open in another window. Problem persists even when I shut down the service in task manager and then restart it.

I tried disconnecting my phone and PC in the app, and reconnecting, and that seems to have solved the issue, at least for now.

I have exactly the same problem "Dell Mobile Connect is open in another window". Nothing happens when I try to "use this window". I tried restarting my computer and reactivated bluetooth, but neither helped. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my phone, which temporarily worked. But as soon as I closed my PC and came back later, the same error message appeared.
Does anyone have a suggestion how to resolve this? Thanks.

I am having the same problem.  Went back to using the Microsoft version of this product.

I am having the same problem and the fixes mentioned do not work. I spent over an hour on the phone with a agent from Dell and it was working but when I restarted my computer the same message appears.

Same thing happened to me and the disconnect and reconnect process worked.

I've noticed this app continually dropping connection, usually it reconnects, very often it takes a long time to reconnect.  This time it would not reconnect on its own.

I have disconnected and reconnected both on my phone and computer. It fixed it for 2 days and it is right back to Dell Connect is open in another window.

Same problem.  This has been a very unreliable program, just seems to get worse.  I can usually get it to work (disconnect/reconnect, or restart computer).  Not this time.  When it works, it's a great desktop tool.  Wen it doesn't, it's just deeply annoying.

Any plans to debug it?

When you have different companies partnershipping on the same product, no one takes responsibility and gets fixed. The program hasn't work for me on either of my new xps laptops which I paid over 5 grand for. I decided to buy cheaper laptops for now on.

Mobile Connect would be a fantastic work tool..., when it is actually functioning -

After years as a Lenovo-only buyer (exception is several Z840 workstations) - i purchased a Dell laptop for the specific use of the Mobile Connect tool capabilities.     On the 4'th day of this big adventure - and can't use Mobile Connect due to the reason above.    Every day I turn t on and the same issue...,

The laptop is serviceable - but what a horrible user experience - every time I turn it on, I realized I can't use mobile connect without a reinstall of the program etc...,   Sorry Dell - this one is going to get wiped and donated out....,

Most probably CCleaner or some other system cleaner is responsible for this problem. Include this cookie- "dell.mc.screenovate.com" in your 'cookies to keep' list, so that ccleaner does not delete this cookie. DMC shall behave normally now.
