Discovered: SNMP communication failed. SNMP credentials may be invalid. : Seed Switch

cmcne_discovery_exclamation.jpg

When I am in CMCNE 14.3.1 in Discovery I receive the following message for the two virtual switches:

Discovered: SNMP communication failed. SNMP Credentials may be invalid.: Seed Switch

However when I increase the Time-out (sec) from 5 to 10 the message goes away and I get the green check instead of the yellow exclamation sign/symbol. Any tips on where I can look to get this resolved? This also occurred in CMCNE 14.2.0.

Hi Dave,

Then I suggest you open a Service Request, and get this looked at properly via the Connectivity support team.

Suggest to collect the technical support information via the server management console (5th tab), also on the same discover screen in your screenshot, right click and "export table". and upload them to your SR for the TSE.

Regards,

Ed

Hi,

To increase the timeout setting on SNMP during discovery would be a normal, to get a proper discovery in CMCNE.

Especially if there is a busy management network or  busy fabric where the switch is not able to communicate with CMCNE server within the 5 second timeout setting. We sometimes advise to set it to 30 seconds, it all depends on the environment.

Ed Schulte

Hi Ed,

I tried your suggestion and increased the timeout setting to 30 seconds and I still get the same results. If you have anymore please send them my way.

Thanks,

Dave Owings
