rearange dir tree in cua

Hi,

I would like to rearange directory tree on cua, which is accessible from outside via cifs.

When I try to move files via cifs, all data go to my workstation and back to cua. So this is bad.

When I try to move some files from cua cmd line  ( X) Enter bash shell ):

> mv file.JPG ..

mv: cannot move `file.JPG' to `../oib.JPG': Permission denied

Is there any way to move files on cua ( not to get out of cua to network  )?

Regards

Hi,

No sure if this is possible, since the files are actually stored in the Centera and we are only accessing them through CUA using CIFS or NFS services.

Hello Tomislak -

You have probably already tried this, but can you use the cmdline to create a hard link from the intended locaition, followed by a delete of the source file/dir?  I don't have a CUA to try it against, just wondering if this might work.
