The NFSv3 CREATE file operation takes the desire attributes of the file as an argument. Hence they can be set as part of the file creation. Similarly, the CIFS SMB_COM_CREATE and SMB_COM_CREATE_AND_X calls takes the desired FileAttributes/ExtFileAt

Mike, When you create your object through the REST interface, you can set the x-emc-groupacl public=FULL_CONTROL. That should allow the file to be read through CIFS.

Mike, That's correct --- it will support Centera's Basic mode in the initial release. Raj

It depends on exactly how the file was copied into the new FLR file system. If the attributes are set as part of the file create call then the file will end up read-only but not protected in any way. Doing it the way you have outlined - that is, se

I tried to add a document to an existing clip. Below are the details. On adding the first document, the clip ID returned was : 059M50OMFHBGBeF0AF089HTK8S1G41C58BG4IA0H60KBCSOAH3STB On adding the second document to the same clip, the ID returned was : CD4QCTM05DE7JeDSCEOUPSE1U7AG41C58C1Q340H

Hello - Centera C-Clip content is decomposed into CDFs (Clip Descriptor FIle metadata) and Blobs (binary attachments). Blobs can be shared across separate clips, which is what you are seeing in your test.  ClipA only contains the pointer for B

Hi, We are experiencing some issues using the SDK via the Java FPLibary. After around 100,000 documents read from the CAS, all threads become blocked waiting on FPClip_Open requiring us to restart the JVM.    public byte[] readFile(CasConfig.POOL pool, String ca

Hi Dan - Sorry for the delayed response. . Nothing particularly special in our configuration: set FP_OPTION_OPENSTRATEGY_OVERRIDE=0 set FP_OPTION_ENABLE_MULTICLUSTER_FAILOVER_OVERRIDE=1 set FP_OPTION_MAXCONNECTIONS=300 Is that what you were a

Hi Dan - Is there a reason you are invalidating the FPPool instance if you get an error? I'm pretty sure that connection.Close() call will fail if there are any open clips at the point of that call, which may be related to your issue if you are hit

HI, When SourceOne was setup we only had a couple of access nodes on Centera so only the DNS names for two access nodes was added to the pool address field in the archive folder. I now need to add a further two access nodes but when I look at the archive folder settings, the pool address field is

Hi David - Assuming the 2 new access nodes are on the same Centera, you do not need any additional configuration in the client app to make use of them. During connection setup with Centera the Centera SDK receives a complete list of primary and repl

When I go to https://developer-content.emc.com/downloads/centera/download.htm, enter the information, and click "Continue", I get a 500 page that shows "Cannot find or read the property file for this application." in Firefox and Chrome, and just a generic 500 page in IE. I've tried this with my regu

Seems fine to me from this page: EMC Centera SDK Download 3.4 Good Luck, Mike Horgan

I was told, at some point in time, that when you delete something from a Centera, it isn't deleted, but it is actually just hidden. A few years ago (2008) a teammate "deleted" some emails from our Centera. It is now necessary to retrieve the items that they attempted to delete. Does anyone know how

Hi Geoff - Your advisor wasn't completely wrong per se, but after some time (14 - 30 days) garbage collection eventually comes along and performs the actual delete operation (unlike in the days of FAT16 where undelete could work months/years later).
