m18 R2, CPU voltage problem?

Hello. I just purchased the m18 r2. I am wondering if the I9-14900HX is experiencing the voltage problem that Intel hasn't fixed yet. At least I don't think that they've fixed it-or does the latest BIOS include a fix?

Thank you.

The "voltage issue" you reference is for desktop CPUs only -- Intel has stated the issue does not affect mobile CPUs.

Also, if it does have this problem, won't Undervolting help prevent the issue?

@ejn63 Thank you for replying. I did some research and found people saying what you did, and others saying the opposite. I'm just worried because this is the most expensive laptop I've ever bought.

What I wrote is what Intel has publicly released.  If you're worried, and it's worth the 15% restocking charge to you, you can return the system and hold until Intel releases an official fix (or look for a notebook without the issue, with an AMD Ryzen CPU).

@ejn63 Do you have any idea how much it would cost if it does get damaged and I want it replaced (just off the top of your head, don't bother researching)? Would the warranty cover this?

Thank you for your help.

The mainboard would need to be replaced, and given the system that's probably well over $1,000 just for the part, or double that if it has a 4090 GPU aboard.   The warranty should cover any failure not caused by the user.
