I have an Alienware m17 R3 motherboard that I'd like to put into my Alienware M17x R3 and am wondering if it will fit?

No. These are completely different systems, multiple generations apart.

The M17x R3 dates from 2011 and the M17 R3 from 2020 -- they're completely different systems.
There is no way to add secure boot to an M17x R3 -- and even with it, the CPU in that system won't support Windows 11.

The cases are the same. Is it the insides that are different? I'm just looking to replace the motherboard. I know they are different generations. but if the cases are the same it should fit?

I'm basically trying to get secure boot on the system
