m17 R1, crashing

Alienware M17

Alienware M17

Hi everyone,

So I have had my Alienware m17 R1 for nearly 4 years and have not had any significant issues with it. Over the past few weeks it has started to crash a lot. I have tried running system tests updating bios but it just keeps crashing. It is mainly when I am playing a game that it crashes. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Hi @Captain_o welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

The Alienware M17 reports Dell ePSA code 4306.26 but the image fails to include the warning window that reveals the ePSA code 4306.26 context. In many ePSA codes there is a requirement that the issue shall be fixed before the system is allowed to boot into the operating system.

At the bottom of picture it seems to say "This resource is not active during testing". The ePSA appears to be testing memory in progress, but unable to complete testing. The Alienware M17 has two RAM memory slots. Please reseat the memory cards having removed dust and/or debris using can of dry air (or similar). If this issue is not fixed, please install one memory card in either slot to determine if card or slot has a fault. Then repeat using other memory card.

Hopefully this issue can be fixed and allow system to play games without crashing.
