m16 R1, strange power fluctuations

Hi im new here, Im a Turkish Alienware M16 R1 user im having strange power problems with my device. Whenever i game for 10 Minutes My cpu power strangely drops to 32-35 Watts and stay there until the game session ends. I tried updating drivers, Reinstalling Windows, Installing an older AWCC reflashing latest bios, Installing Linux and testing the behavior on it but no its same. My Cpu frequency is around 5200MHz and GPU power around 175 Watts at the start of gaming session after 10 minutes it drops to 50 Watts and a few minutes later drops to 35 Watts and games start to stutter. I know the thing called Dynamic Boost steals 25 Watt from Cpu budget in gpu intensive sections of the game but so why this happens after 15 minutes of gaming? other brand laptops doesnt do that. I researched alot about this problem in the last 3 weeks found no solution. My games starts to stutter after 10 minutes. Only way to prevent it is using laptop in Overdrive mode which cause unacceptable fan noise. In my researches ive found many people having this problem and have told it is intentional by dell service and got no solution. But some other people who had the chance to get their motherboard changed say problem is fixed. Looks like i got a faulty motherboard but dell technical service is not helpful. Please help, thx in advance.

@Junbm Hi thx for the reply have you tried chaging power modes and return back to the same mode you using for gaming. Does your frequencies return to normal for some time?

@Cihan Can If u are talking about the windows power mode in control panel, it seems like I only have one mode which is balance. But window setting’s power mode from the battery icon is performance. I am using helldiver 2 to test for every-time I change any settings in bios and awcc modes. The only working setting for me is the balance mode using -50 mv and 15 temperature offsets(I don’t know if it saved the temperature offsetting because it shows 0 if I open bios again). The game around 50-70 fps after playing a while on level 7 difficulty, the cpu and gpu power drop, stable pulling 50-70 wattage on cpu and 110-150 gpu wattages. The other awcc mode doesn’t run really well for me, performance and the f1 key high performance all drop to 35 cpu. Really bad, just hope it can keep the power around 80 cpu and 150gpu.

@Junbm Interesting find my cpu pulls 55 watt in the F1 performance mode 45 Watt in balance mode and 35 watt in performance mode. So you have an intel model, mine is a ryzen 7845hx. I was meaning if you shuffle power profiles from AWCC does your cpu gets its missing power back for some time?

If anyone with a relation with alienware engineers can help me doing a request from them? I mean old forum members and admins if possible. Because of AMD's Stapm Skin temperature aware power management settings i cant get full performance from my laptop. They are set too conservatively and thats why ryzen models having very low performance in games. We bought these laptops because we are computer enthusiasts and having a performance killer like stapm on a enthusiast grade laptop is unacceptable. If we did want our laptops to do not heat we wouldnt have bought gaming laptops these are not ultrabooks. Please Dell listen us. Please remove Stapm from the Ryzen Alienware gaming laptops.

Hello this is my second post about the problem with my device. <Do not start multiple threads for same issue. DELL-Admin> if any of the mods read it please help me to reach alienware engineers. <That is not how Dell works. You contact Support. They contact engineers. DELL-Admin>
Because of AMD's STAPM(skin temperature aware power management) settings are configured very badly, my laptop breaks in games after a temperature threshold which is configured very low. This laptops CPU power drops significantly in games around 35 watt and stutters everywhere. i cannot play games because of that because its complete stutterfest. Cpu frequency drops as low as 1500MHz. AMD STAPM is meant for ultrabooks while we have a enthusiast grade device. This needs to be disabled. Service acts as if there is no problem at all calling this completely normal. So if any of you help me reach one of the Alienware engineers ill apreciate it alot.
