I can't install bios on my laptop.

Hello, I've been encountering this issue ever since upgrading to Windows 11 a few years ago. I own an Alienware M15 laptop, and whenever I attempt to install a BIOS update, I encounter a blue screen midway through the installation process, causing my computer to restart. It's crucial for me to keep my Alienware up to date, but this BIOS installation issue has been persistent, it also prevents me from using many Alienware softwares like controlling Alienware Command center (can't control the fans) or Opening supportAssist.

I'm yet to try to install the bios using the usb method.

But the question isnit safe ? Will installing bios via usb is safe and won't cause any problems.

If anyone has a solution or advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

To receive assistance from Dell support agents they need to first verify the ownership and warranty status. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private PC Service Tag.

Before our users can assist, which specific m15?

Blue screen during a BIOS update is not promising. Are you talking about a Windows blue screen, or a different blue screen?

If it's a Windows blue screen (BSOD), there will be a reason for it that is likely repairable.

As for BIOS updates, unless you absolutely need the improvements a new BIOS provides, there's no direct need to update to the latest version. I would especially not update if you are experiencing errors during the update process, because if the flash fails you could brick the laptop to a point where it will not boot anymore.
