Alienware 13 clicking fan noise.

Hi,

After a couple of months of usage my Alienware 13 I started to hear irregular clicking noise from upper-left corner. I can't hear it when fan is on its full speed as well as when it's idle. But on its average speed I'm having it constantly.

It looks like I'm not the first one with such issue

Please let me know what can be done. Thanks in Advance!

Hi,

What Bios version are you running with the system? Try running an ePSA/Diagnostics test, click here to view a Dell article that explains how to run this test.

Hi Rodrigo,

Thanks for your reply.
I'm running A04 version (at least this is displayed on the main BIOS screen). I'll try to run diagnistics test a bit later - need my laptop working right now.

Hi i had the same problem as you, and if you touch near to the fan, you will feel something like littles jumping. The solution was replace the fan :)

I've run the disagnostics tests and everything looks OK. However during fan tests I heard this annoying clicking sound several times.

Hi,

Yeah, probably your're right.

Does anybody know if there's a chance to quickly replace the fan in SLC? I can't leave my laptop for a long time, because I'm on a business trip here and I need it. Actually it's my first problem with Alienware and I have no idea if there're something like express service available.
