user reported no temperature difference between chassis having or not having the rear cable cover, however, to me the white (lunar) rear cable cover is desirable for esthetics.
from the side the R13 chassis without rear cover is like an integral piece is missing, leaving a concave defect (waning moon). the rear cover renders a whole moon view (full moon). the magnetic mounting mechanism is also super easy. kudos to Dell design.

Does anyone have a line on how to buy these covers now? I spoke to Dell customer support and they said that they can't be ordered at all.

I'm in the same situation here. I bought an R13 from the outlet. Even though the cover was included in the specs, packing list, and invoice, it was not delivered. Dell customer support has been unable to help me source one of these covers.

So, in other words, you didn't receive what you paid for. I would tell Dell to either give me a rear cover, or refund $114.99+taxes, so you can buy one when they become available. Pretty plain and simple.

Have to order from Dell.com call them and request it. Dell will email over the purchase order and just click on the buy link.

Unfortunately every attempt I have made to discuss this with Dell has led to them saying that the item is not available to order.

They've sent me the rear cover with a delay of roughly 1 month after the PC, but with a complete different colour lol. Have you ever seen this before? If the PC housing is lunar light, then the cable cover piece certainly isn't lol.

I did not know there are shades of white for this case. I thought there is only one white but now it seems there is quality variance. Someone told me the XPS they got had top and side panel of different shades on close inspection. something Dell would never admit publicly.

I WISH it was in stock. I’ve been trying to buy it for over a month and they keep saying they are out. Dell UK has it on their website but they won’t sell it to me.

It seems to be luck of the draw, as with the 1000W PSU, whether you can get one at all, and i have never heard of Dell selling them separately.
Mine came with the PC and despite the You Tube "experts" claiming otherwise it looks good when its on and makes no difference temperature wise when its in place.

Seriously, 60 Euros for a bit of moulded plastic with six magnets on it? From overpriced SSD's and Memory to selling a bit of plastic no one actually needs.
