This thread is not intended to be negative on Dell or the Alienware brand but hopefully it can be used as constructive. I as many here own several Alienware products and they do work as intended. @ProfessorW00d No they were not, the R7 for a start featured a standard motherboard that Dell ensured could not be easily replaced with the way they attached the heat shield, and fitted it into the case. Every Alienware PC Dell has produced since b

The motherboard on my R13 died after 14 months and that for me was the last straw. I salvaged the 12900k CPU, the ram and 3090, and bought a midrange z690 board, a 240 mm NZXT AIO, PSU, and a new case. The new build runs faster, runs cooler, once I

So the new R16's have arrived, promising better cooling, performance because they once again listened to gamers. We shall see because from the limited pics, the R16 looks like the R15, R14, R13 chassis' in a new outer shell. Each of the configs only come with Non-OC'd CPU's. Looking forward to the r

Total guess but i think in the few regional areas you could buy a fully tricked out R13 or R15 with a high end GPU and a PSU to supply it, Dell have simply not sold enough units to justify even in those limited areas, it's continued sale. It is clea

It is exactly the same metal box that housed the R13 upwards models minus the plastic. The rear is exactly the same with the 4 extra holes they still can't be bothered with hiding when it was an XPS box, and the hinged door give it away. A quick gla

Once again, and for the umpteenth time, AWCC has messed the bed on my totally stock Aurora R13. I'm right back to the white Alien logo screen then crash to desktop. I've uninstalled with Revo, reinstalled with the full installer package, cold started, pulled the peripheral cables, and it's still bro

If Dell were serious about Alienware being a high end brand, you would think they could manage to at least provide some decent software for it. The AWCC was broken 5 years ago. Dell's answer was to offer at least 3 different install options for it o

Is there anyway to enable XMP memory? I spent 4K on this computer and it runs so poorly with semi-decent parts 3070 Ti, i7-10700k and 32GB ram. But it runs at only 2133MHz. I paid for more so running games like EFT and MW2 will just drop my FPS like crazy staying at the 50-70 range on recommended se

IK

That says it's XMP memory. It makes no mention of XMP profiles being provided. In Dell's world they did not say your getting it, so no issue your not.

Gamers Nexus did an in depth review and I am disappointed my R15 isn't performing as well as it should, especially with the CPU. Please, Dell, fix this.   https://youtu.be/w8kprUGy57E

Motherboards that could not be replaced because no one else makes them and Dell won't sell you one, as well as BIOS locking the CPU so it could not be upgraded and a very limited choice of memory upgrades was happening long before the R13. This very

Been answered on here many times over. The R11 is another AW product that does not offer XMP profiles in the BIOS by design because Dell made them that way. Reason, the motherboard or memory depending on the model is not capable of supporting such

I fully agree, but it is not, sadly, just the R15. Dell have always with each model of there Alienware desktop range heavily emphasised there upgradability, when truth be told there anything but. Other than the a limited choice of GPU because you w
