win 98 start up problem and "msinfo.exe" error messages
everytime I start my Windows 98, I get 2 error messages:
"cannot find the file 'msinfo.exe' (or one of its components). make sure the path and file name are correct and that all required libraries are available"
then after I press "ok":
"could not load or run 'msinfo.exe' specified in the win.ini file. make sure the file exists on your computer or remove the reference to it in the win.ini file"
Windows 98 still runs after I "ok" these error messages. But does this need to be fixed?

Msinfo.exe is spyware, see this. Download Ad-aware from here and Spybot from here. Check online for updates to their databases then run them and delete all the spyware they identify.
If that does not correct the error message, find win.ini, right-click and select Open. When it is open, go to Search and look for msinfo.exe. Delete every reference to it in that file.
