change inputs from keyboard or mouse

Does anyone know if there's a way to change monitor inputs (from VGA to DVI) from the keyboard or mouse? Is there some driver or software I can install that will allow me to access the monitor's on screen menu from the computer? I have an XPS 710 running Microsoft Windows Vista and have a 24 inch widescreen monitor. The reason I am asking is that I would like to hook up an older computer to the monitor and be able to switch back and forth without having to use the monitor controls. Right now I have a KVM switch but it requires me to use VGA for both computers.

KevinEDavis,

I am not aware of any software that will do this.

i was testing today the possibility to change input via ddc.

result:

the default code to change inputs is not listed as valid for this monitor.

"forcing" to change the code of input, cause the monitor to go black.

result:

its not implemented. probably, impossible.
