XPS M1530 Downgrade project to XP Pro x64 edition

In first time, Hi everyone, I'm new in the forum, but I arrived for many time (I hope :smileywink: )

The title of this message say all, the next week I receive my M1530, and I need work in XP Pro x64, my configuration:

T7500.
WXGA+  15,4" (1440 x 900).
DDR2 2048Mb 667Mhz (I upgrade to 4Gb, 2x2Gb 667Mhz Crucial Ballistix Guaranted-compatible).
250Gb SATA 5400rpm.
nVidia 8600GT GO 256Mb DDR3.

I need at least 4Gb of RAM in my work (3ds Max, Maya, Fusion...), and I need the stability of XP Pro x64 (in the next 4 or 5 months I migrate to Vista Ultimate x64).

I read many about downgrade to XP x32, but nothing about XP x64, I hace some drivers for XP Pro x64:

- nVidia driver (169.28), from LaptopVideo2go.
- Wireless 3945 ABG driver and utility from INTEL official website.
- INTEL Matrix Storage iata78 from INTEL official website.

Like is natural, I want 100% operative all the components of my M1530 (if it's possible) I isn't a newbie user, and I hope can make the downgrade without problems, but I would appreciate any help, because I'm not only will limit myself to do it and remain silent forever, I want publish the process in multiple languages to help others, the comunity what want this information is big.

For the moment, I apreciate know others experience in this same downgrade, and I share my experience in this forum.

A greeting.

I know Vista x64 perfectly (I say in my first post that I isn't a newbie), but Vista have some problems with some applications (Adobe Suite) and plugins for 3ds Max, Maya and Fusion.

A greeting.

Why not go to 64bit Vista right away...unlikely that everything is going to work with 64bit XP.  Going to Vista 64 bit in the near future myself...looks about ready... http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/winvista_1yr_x64.asp

Bummer... why???

I use my PCs for work, if I work in Vista, XP, Mandriva, OpenSuse, Ubuntu, Debian... is irrelevant the OS that I use, if I don't want Vista (for now), because for my work today I only can work with 100% compatibility in XP Pro x64, the OS, isn't the tool, the tool are the software, I'm not say that Vista is best or is the bad OS.

The PCs are my tools for win money, nothing more and nothing less, I have installed now Vista x64, Mandriva 2008 one KDE, XP Pro x64 and Xubuntu, but the M1530 is for exclusive use in 3ds Max 2008, Fusion, Maya, Photoshop, Illustrator, ZBrush... I hope that you understand that my decision isn't a capricious decision.

In the next days I share my experience, if anyone want help me when I have problems I will be very grateful.

Best Regard.

Just meant that you've got a very specific sophisticated set of software requirements...usually a lag to get all the hooks into a new OS....

Keep us posted on how it's going...

Thanks!

Finally I install XP Pro x64 on my M1530, and everything works 100% perfect.

You need to enter the driver AHCI (SATA) with nLite software in the installation CD of XP Pro x64, find drivers and don't forget these two things:

1 The HD and the BIOS has to be so ACHI and Flash Module on.
2 The first driver to install the chipset.

Would you happen to have a link to all the drivers for the M1530 w/ Windows XP Professional x64 drivers?

I am requiring them as well.
