Memory modules: 512 MB DDR DRAM SODIMM PC2700 266 MHz
Hello,
Has anybody tried to use memory PC2700 instead of PC2100 on Dell Inspiron 8200?
I have a possibility to buy such modules (512 MB) at a very attractive price, but I do not know if PC2700 can be used on my Dell. According to Dell user manual it can be only PC2100. I have no experience in shuffling memory modules, so maybe somebody can help.

Correct if I am wrong, but are there PC2700 266 MHz modules? Or maybe they should be PC2700 333 MHz?
Now I am but a little confused and possibly the vendors messed up with labels on the modules, which is of course possible as they were selling those modules like fresh bread from the corner-store, so maybe they did not know what they were selling...![](https://ip1.i.lithium.com/52586f2fc8afa934b6379150dfeb513430a792cd/687474703a2f2f64656c6c74616c6b2e75732e64656c6c2e636f6d2f692f736d696c6965732f31367831365f736d696c65792d68617070792e676966)
To my understanding it should be:
PC2100 266 MHz,
PC2700 333 MHz
Is this correct or can it also be PC2700 266 MHz?
Thanks for help in advance.

You are correct,
PC2100= 266Mhz
PC2700= 333Mhz
it must have been a misprint..... and I would suggest they are PC2100 for several reasons (Firstly, you said they were an attractive price, leads me to believe that may have been because they were PC2100. Secondly, it is easier to misprint 2100 as 2700, than 333Mhz as 266Mhz)
Luck

The price was about 100$ per 512 MB module. The manufacturer was quite a well-know Swiss company Swissbit (www.swissbit.com)
