Inspiron 15 3558, no audio output device installed

My laptop all of a sudden just refused to play audio. I have tried downloading and updating the drivers, but to no avail. I also tried resetting the laptop, no success either. I did run a diagnostic check on the pc (the thing where you press F12 during bootup) and the audio played perfectly during the diagnostic, so I'm guessing this isn't a hardware problem. Anyone else got any ideas?

I'm assuming window 10 is on the computer.....

You installed the latest Chipset and Audio drivers from your Dell Product Support page ?

Drivers & Downloads

You check to make sure computer has the latest windows update form Microsoft?

Update Windows 10 - support.microsoft.com

Do you see the Audio Output Device in Device Manager ? If no, expand Audio Inputs and Outputs, click on Action at the top of Device Manager, and then select Scan For Hardware Changes. Hopefully you'll see the Audio driver.

If Audio Output driver still doesn't appears, click on View, and then select Show Hidden Devices.
