Symptoms

The Consistency Group/s (CG/s) enter into an error state, stop replication, or full sweep may occur, after RecoverPoint for Virtual Machine NDU from version smaller than 5.2.2.2 to 5.3.x.
 
In the iofilterd-emcjiraf.log, under folder 
/var/run/log or /scratch/log

 there are multiple errors related to iofilterd-emcjiraf being unable to open JVOL files due to file lock still being held.

Cause

Iofilterd-emcjiraf is unable to open JVOL files due to lock.

Resolution

Workaround:
Before upgrading to 5.3.x, perform an additional upgrade to go to RP4VM, splitter and jiraf to version 5.2.2.4 and then upgrade to 5.3.x.

Resolution:

This issue is addressed in the RecoverPoint 5.2.2.2 version and later.
