Symptoms

Dell Latitude 5310 2-in-1, 5510, and 7210 2-in-1 laptop owners have reported that their Dell S3220DGF monitors resolution does not automatically adjust when you change between the DP (DisplayPort) and VGA (Video Graphics Array) display inputs.

Note: This is only seen when using the Dell DA310 USB-C Mobile Adapter to connect the monitor to your system:

  1. If you unplug the VGA cable from the DA310 and then plug in the DP cable to the DA310, between the S3220DGF monitor and your computer. The DP resolution falls to 1920x1080@60 Hz instead of full resolution. (2560x1440@60 Hz for the S3220DGF.)

  2. If you unplug the DP cable from the DA310 and then plug in the VGA cable to the DA310, between the S3220DGF monitor and your computer. There is no display on the monitor.
