Symptoms

This issue can appear if the NMC (gstd) service and NetWorker server (nsrd) service are installed on separate hosts. You are able to login to the NMC but clicking on different tabs and options produces the error pop up: "Unable to connect to server: Unable to authenticate with server networker-server: Authentication error: why = Server rejected credentials"

Cause

This can be caused by peering conflicts or incorrect permission settings.

Resolution

Clear the peer information on the NMC server and the NetWorker server:
Once the peer information has been deleted attempt to login to the NMC. If the error continues you can run the following commands on the NetWorker server:
nsrauthtrust -H authc-server-name -P 9090
nsraddadmin -H authc-server-name -P 9090
