Using the Dell EMC Data Protection Restore Client for vProxy based recoveries does not show the progress of individual restore operations. This ability is available in the DPR GUI if the polling feature is enabled. As shown below the feature is disabled by default.
The Dell EMC Data Protection Restore Client provides the ability to monitor the restore operations while in progress by enabling the Polling feature,
which is disabled by default. Once enabled, when you click the icon, the Restore Detail pane slides into view on the right side of the window, displaying the ongoing restore operations. Clicking the entry displays the progress of the restore and a recovery logs download option.
Instructions on how to enable the polling feature are in the NetWorker VMware Integration Guide. They have been included below:
- To enable the polling feature so that you can monitor the status of the restore, click the hourglass icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the window and set to ON. By default, the polling feature is set to OFF due to the memory consumption that occurs when the server is queried every few seconds for the restore status.
