In this video, we will cover the procedure for enabling security key on the controller and creating secure virtual disk after enabling security key as well as importing the secure virtual disks in a PERC 9 RAID Controller.
Please note, the controller does not allow import of configurations that results in more than 64 virtual disks for an Enterprise Level PERC Controller and 32 virtual disks for an entry level PERC Controller.
To enable security key for the controller and create secure virtual disk: Turn on the Dell 13th generation PowerEdge system and press F2 to go to the System Setup page.
Click Device Settings and then click RAID controller. Click Controller Manager. To enable the security key on PERC 9 RAID controller, click Controller Manager, Advanced Controller Management.
And then click Enable Security. Note: Local Key Management checkbox is selected by default. Click OK. Now type security Key Identifier in the Security Key Identifier field. And type the passphrase in the Passphrase, Confirm field.
