Aurora R13, AWCC broken again!

Once again, and for the umpteenth time, AWCC has messed the bed on my totally stock Aurora R13. I'm right back to the white Alien logo screen then crash to desktop. I've uninstalled with Revo, reinstalled with the full installer package, cold started, pulled the peripheral cables, and it's still broken. I am disgusted with AWCC and it's constant instability.

From what I can see, it looks as though, once again, the issue lies with the peripherals. I've got things to the point where the CPU is at the default blue color, so that piece of the system seems to have been reinitialized, as far as the lighting goes anyway. The mouse, keyboard, and headphones are another story. All three of those peripherals are stuck at the spectrum effects that I set up on them through AWCC. The last time I worked with this train wreck of a piece of software, I got to where the peripherals seemed to have reinitialized themselves back to the default static blue. Not this time...nothing I've done so far seems to have fully reinitialized the lighting on the three peripherals.

I guess I'll open up yet another service ticket and let them have a crack at it again. If there was any other way I could control the system as far as lighting, I'd ditch AWCC in a heartbeat. I've never seen a larger piece of garbage than AWCC. smh

And, once again, and for the umpteenth time AWCC automagically came back to life again. I was away and I had my system powered down for about ten days. When I fired it up again, AWCC worked again. This after I was advised to reinstall W11 by Dell tech support, which I will absolutely not do in this situation and based on past experience. The problem is not the OS. What it is is anybody's guess..

I have absolutely no explanation for this possessed piece of software. The only thing I did was to have the system shut off for the ten days. Maybe it just gets tired and needs a rest...maybe it incorporates AI and just works when it wants to. I don't have a clue. I guess I'll just keep sailing along until it decides to stop working again.

If Dell were serious about Alienware being a high end brand, you would think they could manage to at least provide some decent software for it.

The AWCC was broken 5 years ago. Dell's answer was to offer at least 3 different install options for it on the R13 support page.

I got it to work by downloading the full installer package which took an age to install then did not install the Fusion or overclocking packages. I downloaded those separately and installed them.

Having set my lights and wanting to quit while I was ahead I then got rid of the broken software from a decade ago and consigned it, along with the other prehistoric heap of junk laughingly called the support assistant to a place they belong, which is removed from any PC.

It seems that there is something wrong besides AWCC. I,m going 5 years with 2 Alienware machines and I have had zero problems with AWCC…none what so ever. I’m on Windows 10 with all the latest update Bois- Windows- Gpu drivers. I can’t be the only Alienware owner that the AWCC is working properly. I do understand your frustration. But I don’t think it’s the Alienware Command Center software.

I don't think it's the software alone either, but I do think it has something to do with the peripherals not being correctly reinitialized after any AWCC issues and how AWCC interacts with them. It's possible that after a lengthy system shutdown the peripherals are able to fully reinitialize and so AWCC will load and function properly. Also, you are running W10 on systems that are older than an Aurora R13. Your peripherals are most likely not what I'm running.  I'm running W11. My point is that there are many, many different system configurations out there. Some, like mine, for whatever reasons sometimes get out of whack with AWCC. You are one of the lucky ones with a config that works well with AWCC...not all of them do.

I am lucky too. No issues whatsoever with AWCC on an Area-51 R5 . . . Windows 10.
