XtremIO RecoverPoint AppSync Clarity Database

Hello ,

I have a below scenario with my customer, please suggest a solution.

 

XMS version is 6.2.1

XIO Software is 4.0.27-1

RecoverPoint : 5.1.0.1

Appsync: 3.1

XtremIO is used for Clarity Database on SQL server which is replicated using RecoverPoint to an alternate Datacenter. Apart from this, they have a local AppSync server at each location and they mount the snaps to multiple servers for testing and Development.

Location A is production and Location B is DR.

Today they experienced a database corruption on Location A (Prod)around 9.15 am EST and they are looking for the best option to restore the production?

Customers don't have a local Recover Point copy.

They have snapshots presented to multiple servers, but copy from snapshots to the production will take hours or days.

They have a fully working backup (TSM)available for the previous day.

Here is what I suggested to the customer,

 

Perform a failover to the alternate data center using a timestamp where the Database was working without any issues. Bring up the Clarity application and perform a DBCC check for the database at the DR site. Once everything is checked and normal, perform a failback to the Production and validate the Database.

Please suggest if there is any other better solution other than this. Appreciate your help.

What you are suggesting should work.  Is your XtremIO still have a support contract?
