XtremIO brick expansion process

We are expanding our cluster from 2 to 4 bricks.  I understand the expansion in non disruptive.  Is there an automated process that takes place during or after the expansion that re-balances existing data onto the new flash drives?

The expansion is non disruptive. Someone from EMC PS will work with you to carry out the process, but basically it involves adding the new bricks and then bringing their Storage Controllers online.  It'll then kick off the rebalance you've mentioned, and at the end of the process you'll end up with data evenly balanced across all SSD's in the array.

Despite the fact that might mean moving a fairly large amount of data, there is generally no noticeable impact to performance during the rebalance - due to the fact that the array is now running with twice the number of active/active storage controllers as it started with (dual brick has 4 SC's, a quad brick has 8!) so the performance hit due to the rebalance is negated by the additional performance available in the array!
