HBA Queue Depth and ESXi host settings for shared environment

Are there recommended settings for HBA Queue Depth and Host OS settings for an environment that is utilizing both an XtremIO Xbrick and VMAX 40K.. My customer is prepared to move solely to the the Xbrick, but would prefer to have both storage arrays available to his VDI farm.

we're wondering if there's a "sweet spot" in the settings that would allow both to peform well

Thanks

Chris, Hope this helps. VMWARE Considerations in Mixed Array Configurations 1. Queue depth is set globally so the LOWER of the recommended values would need to be set. In general this is what the VMAX currently has recommended as XtremIO recommends the maximum. 2. If running ESX versions below 5.5 Disk.SchedNumReqOutstanding should not be modified. If running 5.5 or greater it is set per LUN and should be set to the XtremIO recommendation. 3. Disk.SchedQuantum and config.vpxd.ResourceManager.maxCostPerHost should not be modified. VAAI should be FULLY enabled. It is highly recommended that all parameters be set to the XtremIO recommendations UNLESS the VMAX release that the customer is running is subject to an ETA about issues with VAAI. 4. Disk.DiskMaxIOSize should be set to the XtremIO recommendation as it will limit the MAXIMUM IO size to 4MB. The default is 32MB but any IO larger than 4MB will be broken up by VMWare and send to the storage array as smaller chunks. 5. Multipathing is done per Storage Array type and so should be done for XtremIO and VMAX using their respective configuration recommendations.

FCFRAME,

do you have similar recommendations for customers running Citrix Xenserver 6.5 ?
