XPS 9730 Preboot Dell Security Manager password prompt with OPAL 2.0 SED drive
XPS 17 9730
SSD with TCG OPAL 2.0 and IEEE1667 support has been encrypted using Windows 11 Bitlocker hardware-based encryption. Dell Security Manager (UEFI/BIOS) keeps asking for the hard drive password. No password is set in UEFI/BIOS.
@DELL-Cares support please advise on how to disable it. If the following article is correct, Latitude laptops had similar problem and it has been fixed with a bios update https://kcm.trellix.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB94613

cheerful_man,
To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.
Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

Will they ever fix this? This has been a problem for at least two years now.
Here's another thread:

How is it that other manufacturers fix it within weeks while @DELL-Cares (even with the Precision lines) actually does not care at all?
