XPS 13 9340, Ubuntu 24.04, Thunderbolt Security Levels missing from BIOS

Like the title says, I have the latest bios v1.70 and I can't find where the Thunderbolt Security Levels are.

I'm running Ubuntu 24.04 and it seems that no matter what I do, the kernel keeps disconnecting my Thunderbolt device.

Machine specs would be helpful

Could be the UEFI/BIOS needs to be updated but you need to be running windows to do that

Checking my service tag number, I verified that my BIOS is the latest.

I use Windows 11 but I use TB ports mostly for charging devices

I am wondering of the Linux kernel may be buggy

I updated the bios to v1.8.0 and still have the same issue.

I'm like 99% sure that the Thunderbolt Security controls DO NOT exist in the bios.

Even trying the Dell Command utility...

$ sudo /opt/dell/dcc/cctk --ThunderboltSecLvl

The option 'ThunderboltSecLvl' is not available or cannot be configured
through this tool.

I suggest running Linux in a VM instead of bare metal which will allow you to maintain security etc
