I think you mean this bracket. This is a brand new model so it is difficult to get a DP/N of it yet. Meanwhile if you still want to add a second top front chassis fan you may try using grommets to fasten a 120 mm fan to chassis front fenestrated grill.

the front bezel top half facade is solid which blocks direct air intake. If you add a top front chassis fan it will take air from the bottom and left/right side opening of front cover.  Lian Li case often has this design.328DAA74-D377-4CE0-9879-AD4340CEE9BE.jpeg

I have the same question.  This is indeed the part.  Took apart my 8950 front fan bracket, P/N reads as 1B43TQQ00.  How do we order it?

Contacted the Sales (Electronics and Accessories) team as advised and they confirmed the bracket won't be available for at least 3 weeks.

Is this cause you want to add another front fan? I get my 8950 on Tuesday (hopefully) and I was wondering if anyone had added another front fant. Let me know how it goes if you do

I temporarily attached the second fan with a zip tie until I can find the bracket as well!

Hi Caleb - yes I wanted to add another fan.  This guy did it - he has a thread here too:- https://youtu.be/PkUjF65jTag

Prime, what fans did you use?  I've been looking for  the same fan as what we have while I wait for the bracket to be available.

Called Dell parts again this week and they said we can only get the bracket as part of the assembly with the fan - 7DJGC was the part number.

However still not available for now.

Guys... You don't need the bracket to add a fan. The chassis has holes for fitting a 120mm fan. I've done so using rubber screws and it's perfect.

I actually also added two 92mm fans to the side panel using zip ties and I have these 3 fans running on the Noctua fan controller using SATA for power (so the knob controls the speed, not the mobo). I added Arctic pwm fans.

You guys should do this as well to add more cooling. I have an i7 12700k with liquid cooling and an RTX3080 Ti. Running Apex/Warzone at max settings and 4K I've had my temps drop by 15-20c. My max CPU temp is now 71 and GPU is 76 while keeping the speed at 65% to avoid making the fans louder than the 2 existing fans.

Question. I see you added an intake fan towards the top. The other side is solid. Is that adequate enough for it to breathe properly for the proper amount of intake air flow?

XPS 8950 ships with adequate air flow as is.

Not sure adding second fan makes any difference, there is a panel in front of it. Second fan might get very-slight air flow increase, but nothing to write home about.

Right - the top fan only gets air from the side vents and the shared space with the bottom fan.  It's just hard to resist putting a fan on a waiting fan mount hole. Just take a look at the fans on the R13 to see why we have it there.  Not enough ventilation holes for us though.

This guy pushes a lot of air that I can feel at the top left holes during stress testing. It's on it's own fan header.

I did have a question  to those who mounted side fans. I can see how a single 92 would fit, but don't you have to to remove the GPU bracket to fit a 2nd one? I don't see it in Desi's picture.

Keep in mind however DELL Fans are 4000 RPM so if you run tests it will fail for non dell fans.

I'm interested in adding another front fan as well, provided it will offer some relief to the two 4TB 7200rpm disks I have mounted in carriers up top. They are running around 44C / 111F, which is acceptable (<50C), but not ideal (<40C). It would be great to somehow direct airflow right to these disks. Any suggestions (other than replacing them with expensive SSDs)?

Solved... For anyone running two 7200rpm disks up top in their XPS 8950, I solved my heat problem with a 90mm fan I had lying around. The fan is well secured to the case by four small 7.5mm fan1.jpegfan2.jpegrare earth magnets which, along with the mounting screws serve as a ~10-12mm standoff to allow airflow over the tops of the disk drives. I tapped the secondary SATA power plug with a SATA male to Molex female adapter to power the fan, as there are no spare fan headers on the motherboard. The drive temps dropped 10C, from ~44C/111F to ~34C/93F which is MUCH better. Amazing what a little airflow can do!
