XPS 8940, Vetroo V5 CPU cooler
I have tried the Dell upgrade cooler and it is a very easy install and works better than stock one. I recently installed a Vetroo V5 CPU cooler. It is a close fit so I cut out an opening in my side panel and put clear plexiglass on outside. This allowed more space plus to see fans with lites on. The Vetroo V5 lowered my CPU temps dramatically, 10 to 15 C lower. This fan is a must for any Dell XPS 8940. I also have installed front fan and went further by drilling holes in front panel to aid the front fan. Works great.

I first replaced rear 80mm with 92 mm…..then got Dell upgrade cpu cooler only later replaced by Vetroo V5 cooler…..I then ordered the 3d printed 120 mm fan bracket for Dell 8940….. the original hard drive is placed in front..I moved it to the top position…..the 3d print bracket will screw perfectly the 120 mm front fan…..drill the front panel to help out the new front fan….I then installed 80 mm fan in front panel for aid of GPU unit…..I then rotary sawed out side panel for a plexiglas side window….I bought the Vetroo 3 fan package with light controller….I then put Vetroo cooler on with a push/pull fan setup…You might be able to install V5 cooler without window..it is a tight fit though…..I have ran several video convert programs and noticed around 10 to 15 F cooler operating unit…..love this setup….will keep it computer…not worried about looks…

There's no need to cut a hole or fit a window to use the vetroo v5 with the xps 8940. It fits fine within the stand case.

the screws used to mount the bracket on the cooler
does the holes have threads in the cooler
very hard to get the screws in
