XPS 8910, internal HDD sata capacity limits?

Hi all,

I've done the general research, but just not entirely certain where the limits are and whether some of those limits involve the motherboard and anything proprietary in Dell uefi/Bios etc. (for lack of better titles for what used to be bios).

What is, and IS there, a max on HDD capacity for internal sata 3 connect on the XPS 8910 using Win10 pro?

I'll be working with project that have massive libraries of resources and the larger the capacity (more than 12TB) for a single internal the better.

We had discussed if the internal didn't work for some reason, to just use it in a high capacity external enclosure, but it is seeming like those may be capped at 10TB and I'm just really not sure what the limitations are and where the bottlenecks may be.

Any definitive answers would be greatly appreciated!
