XPS 8910, difference between Silver and Black or just cosmetic?
Okay, I'm kind of proud of myself for getting the question in the title. They make a silver face 8910 and a black version that appears more common. I'm wondering if there was an edition difference of any kind on the mobo or components, or they are identical and they just made different front-side appearances? This is not about the "SE" version.
Thanks!

No difference.
incidentally 8910/20/30 use same chassis design. imo if you like to stay on this model line, the 8930 is more desirable as it has the 300 series mobo and supports 8/9th gen cpu, which is 6 core and has better single thread performance than the 6/7th gen in 8910/20 that have 100/200 series board. I saw some one selling a silver 8910 i7-7700 for < $100 which is a very good price. Yet I decide not to get it b/c reason above. Tech gets old super fast, the 7700 less attractive than 8700/9700, although the 7700 owners are still reluctant to accept that trend.

Only cosmetic difference in case. Inside spec configuration options are the same. The odd bezel reflects case color too.

@redxps630 Cool. So, If I were wanting to find one as a hardware backup for my current XPS 8910 (redundancy in case something breaks, a clone could continue operating in the other case/mobo/etc) there is no discernable difference between silver and black?
