Windows 11 home :Device manager :About "other devices" and unknown devices

Hi to everyone!

since few days ago i have an Alienware x17 r2 : Windows 11 updated till last available update (i also updated the notebook with the last bios available but i have these 2 devices under "Other devices" (you can see them in the picture that i have attached here, sorry in advance about the italian language of my OS):

- Intel Tile Device ( i really can not find what it is...)

- Dispositivo sconosciuto (Unknown device) : by clicking on the properties you can see that is actually called "in Router host USB4" (TM) (Microsoft)" and there is wrote (always in Italian) that "the device is working correctly"and for what i found on internet it is basicaly related to the thunderbolt 4 port (usb-c form) that i have in my laptop. I also connected an usb c hub (usb 3.o with usb port) and it functions well. i do not have any thunderbolt 4 device to test it. i also do not know if it can be related to some settings on the bios. i am just worried if something is broken.

Then there is also another important point (that you can not see in the picture that i attached here) :under the device manager/system devices appears a device that is called "pci express root port" that it has the "exclamation mark" and by clicling on "properties" it says that the device driver are installed but the device can not be activated because of the "in Router host USB4" (TM) (Microsoft) (that is probably not working well

can you help me? IF you need some other pictures please feel free to ask!

thanks in advance s4l1afth0im81.png

Update = After verifying ownership and completing troubleshooting, a DELL agent setup a refund.

Thank you again! i have already tried downloading/updating everything but did not change nothing.Actually i arrived to reset the pc:nothing changed but i could finally discover which kind of file it is :

unknowndevicesthunderbolt4.png

where the driver that is missing or corrupted is this:

Usb4DeviceRouter.sys.

where you can read about it here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/component-guidelines/usb4-intro-to-connection-manager

then i could find some download of the file here :

https://www.pconlife.com/searchfile/windowsosfile/

but the last version of windows that i have for files is Win10 and the files folders are quite different from what i find by searching the file on Win11 home (in my pc just 4 folders with the file inside and the files has different dimension)...so...mmm...should i contact intel too?...(that i am already doing...but i think/feel that the solution is more obvious that i think.,...double-mmm

Windows 11 home :Device manager :About "other devices" and unknown devices

Hi to everyone!

since few days ago i have an Alienware x17 r2 : Windows 11 updated till last available update (i also updated the notebook with the last bios available) and obviously i tried dell support assist and Intel  Driver & Support Assistant
but no success...and now i reset the pc but again no success. here it is my situation :

where the driver that is missing or corrupted is this:

Then if you have a thunderbolt 4 port could you please check on your system and tell me what is your situation?

(Please go on device manager/view : here check "show hidden devices" and also "devices by connection and go to check in the usb4 zone under "Pci express root port". )

Hi @breakz80  note that you have similar thread at Re: Windows 11 home :Device manager :About "other devices" and unknown devices - Dell Community and that Dell user has made a contribution.

The quick fix without knowing any detail is to get Windows 11 operating system resolution. Please delete the unknown device driver, and Restart (not Shut Down) so that this change is saved. Make sure that Alienware x17 R2 is connected to the internet when it automatically reboots. The Windows 11 operating system will either automatically install a new driver, or not. Visit Device Manager and this particular problem should have been resolved for your system.
