"Transparent Screen" Problem ?

Hello, Running XP on a 3 year old Dell XPS. Everything seems to work just fine, except for this new problem with Outlook Express 6. When I start my PC in the morning, and go to OE, all I get is the top bar and a transparent screen. To get the normal screen, I found out after playing around with it for some time, that all I have to do is click on the icon in the upper right hand corner that makes the screen smaller. If I don't do that, all I get is the transparent screen, that shows the top OE bar, and being transparent, the Desktop (underneath). Any idea what might be going on ? Thanks, Bob

At top RHS, other than the normal Minimise, Restore Down & Close buttons, is there any extra buttons/icons or when right clicking the Minimise button are there additional options, like Transparency etc…

If correct then you or someone else has installed one of the many security or custom software tools available to make OE & other apps transparent, like this one?

If not the culprit, suggest you boot to safe mode & try either windows system restore to date just before problem started or use last known good configuration option
