Spanish accents - keyboard

I have an Inspiron 9400 laptop.  With a desktop keyboard, I could do say, Alt + 161/162 etc, to get Spanish accents.  The Inspiron doesn't have a separate number keyboard, and no matter what combination I use, I can't seem to get the new keyboard to do it.  Any suggestions?!  I only need to use them occasionally, so it's not worth changing the settings in control panel.

Turn off numlock
You will want to invest in this program if you do allot of Spanish accents

If you're using MS Office, click Insert>Symbol on the toolbar. Find the accented letters you need and then set up a hotkey combo that will insert that character directly into the doc. Office may have hotkeys already assigned for the common ones.

Or you can copy/paste from charactermap (C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CHARMAP.EXE if you don't have a shortcut to it)
