reinstalling roxio easy CD CREATOR 5.1 BASIC

I am trying to reinstall the roxio CD that came with my dell 4500. It stated that it is not compatable with my version of windows. ?????? I still have windows XP. What is the problem.?

You can upgrade Roxio 5.1 basic to 5.3.5, which is XP compatible, here: http://www.roxio.com/en/support/ecdc/ecdc_basic_xp_updt53.jhtml

i dont know why, but this very problem is going on with some of my computers at home,

i had roxio easy cd creator 5.1 running on my dell desktop with windows 98, but when i installed xp it wouldnt install. im presuming that windows xp dosent support that older program. on the other hand bought roxio easy media creator 7.5 and it works just perfectly.

You're probably right jm. I'm not sure what "sever patching" is, but the free upgrade in the link I gave resulted in a program that works quite well with my XP.

Those old versions of Roxio are not compatible with XP and need sever patching. It's almost worth the effort to go and buy a better burning program such as Nero.
