Need DOS Command to quit an application install (?)

Tried to reinstall Windows XP from the Dell Reinstallation Disc and it stops during the "Installing Devices" section.  Nothing I try will get me out of this installation program so I can troubleshoot.  I can use Shift F10 to get to a command prompt, but I don't remember any of my DOS commands well enough to know what command will quit or exit this application.  Can anyone help?

littledi,

If you boot from the XP Reinstallation CD anything currently in progress on the system will be stopped and installation can proceed from scratch. Make sure that all external peripherals (except mouse, monitor, and keyboard) are disconnected from the system before you start installation then follow the procedures here.

Thanks Denny, but what I have is this:  The Reinstall stops a few minutes in to the "Installing Devices" section and I get a blue screen and the system shuts down.  When I reboot, the initial message is "Setup is resuming".  It then continues to the same point and stops again.  Anything that I do is inconsequentially.  All I'll get is a restart of the Reinstall application.  Thats why I want to get a DOS command to quit the application from a C: prompt, so can troubleshoot the application from there.
