m15 R7, Windows 11 keep asking for activation

My Windows 11 keep asking for activation from time to time. It happens every couple days. It can be resolved by troubleshooting. But it’s very annoying. Any idea how to resolve it?

I had this problem early in 2022 on my Vostro desktop. I could run the activation troubleshooter successfully, but the problem would come back the next day; ditto when I entered the product key extracted with the NirSoft ProduKey utility. I have no idea what caused the problem, but reinstalling Windows fixed it, and it hasn't come back. (I was working through some other problems with drivers around this time, and troubleshooting them necessitated periodically reinstalling Windows anyway.)

That's my roundabout way of getting to this: a Windows repair install may very well clear up the problem without having to reinstall apps and files. It's quick (on SSDs, at least) and effective for a surprisingly wide range of problems. Make sure you back up your files first, just in case.

This MS forum thread may help. Have you tried going to settings/system/activation?

I find this thread before. But it does not provide a solution. It appears that reinstallation may not necessarily work. I don’t want to try it because some applications that I use have only allows limited times of activation.

I'm glad the repair install fixed the problem. Until recently I'd only run it in a virtual machine, since I didn't have an actual problem to fix. Just the other day I had a problem related to apparent corruption in Windows, so I mounted a Windows 11 ISO image and ran the repair install, and the problem cleared up! It really is the "Swiss Army knife" of repair procedures.
