Dell vostro 3350 windows 7 wifi

Please Help

a major crash caused me to reinstall windows 7  & drivers from the original supplied dvd's.

however my wireless network would not operate although the antenna indicator was on, there was no available connections and the trouble shooter did not find the cause.

I attached a netgear usb wireless modem which works ok, but I would like to have the internal wifi working.

I have tried the suggested downloads from Dell to no avail.

Any help would be much appreciated

I wouldn't spend time trying to fix an issue in Windows 7. Windows 7 is unsupported and insecure. It does not receive security patches, so it should no longer be used on a PC connected to the Internet.

I suggest that you update to Windows 10. First, backup your personal files to an external drive and save any licence keys you will need to reinstall applications.

Then, do the free upgrade: https://www.zdnet.com/article/heres-how-you-can-still-get-a-free-windows-10-upgrade/

After upgrading, check to see if Windows 10 is activated in Settings | Activation. If it is, then you can perform a clean install of Windows 10 and it should activate automatically. The clean install will result in a better system than just staying with the in-place upgrade.

Next, you would install chipset drivers. It's likely that the Windows install or Windows Update will install a required driver for your wireless card. If the wireless card won't work, then you could troubleshoot it in Windows 10, such as checking to see if it is identified in Device Manager.

Hi Filbert

Yes, I took your advise and installed Windows10 on the vostro 3350 via a USB memory stick, however my Windows 7 activation code did not work, neither did my Office 2007 code, so I am using an unactivated version of Windows10

Thanks again

Erik
