Dell Bluetooth 2.0 USB Reciever / Setpoint isnt recognized on Vista!!

I have the upgraded my OS to Windows Vista and I am having problems with my Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse Bundle from Dell with the Bluetooth 2.0 USB receiver. Setpoint Software doesnt even recognize my keyboard. I had to purchase a corded microsoft keyboard. But my mouse works for some reason i dont know. And yes I have rebooted and tried to reinstall the devices but with no success. Is there anyone else having issues with bluetooth devices and windows vista?
I have gone through the help menu's on Microsoft Websites and I dont know if I have to wait for an updated driver from DELL or what?  Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi there I am working with Tech support in Dell and I got an issue which was same like yours and it was resolved by downloading this software http://ftp.us.dell.com/input/R141440.EXE so download this and let me know if it works .Actually this is compatible with Vista.

Hello sunilkchopra!
My Dimension9200/DXP061 came with Dell's bluetooth 2.0 USB receiver keyboard & Mouse.
I upgraded to OS VISTA yesterday. Since then the setpoint logo on the screen has disappeared. Though I am still able to use the Keyboard & mouse as wireless the fullpotential is no longer available-control knob on the keyboard does not control sound,Mouse scrool wheel on tap does not magnifies the print nor sideway movement of the scrool move the browsing page sideways.
Do you think your suggested site on your mail will help me or Have I got to wait for a new driver to be posted by Dell.
Thanks a million for your advice.

Hi There snowshine

Well suggestion to everybody for future whenever you are upgrading to new OS like in your case always remove critical drivers and applications from old os like antivirus, antispyware before you upgrade and in this case setpoint (Which might conflict during upgrading of OS from XP to Vista as there is conflict with setpoint of XP and Setpoint of Vista anyhow please remove the setpoint completely from system and then please download the above given file from our servers and this is fully compatible with vista and works like charm with Bluetooth keyboard and Mouse.....any other questions please let me know.

Thanks and regards

Sunil,

Here's a bit of a twist for you. I just received my new Inspiron 9400 loaded with Vista Ultimate and the 355 BT module. I have a Dell keyboard and mouse bundle (no receiver) which I received a few weeks ago. I have spent considerable time on the phone with various individuals trying to get the SW and HW to talk the same language and sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. I loaded the 141440 update, installed the mouse and keyboard and everything worked great, shut down the PC went to the office and no scroll wheel function on the mouse and no hot key functions on the keyboard. About 1/2 way through the day, it died completely. Also unable to access the setpoint settings. All I get is the help screen. Do I need to remove the drivers, disable McAfee and exit everything as though I was doing an upgrade from XP? Do I need the receiver, which I understand is a different part number? I don't know if it will work with my phone or other BT devices. I just need the KB and mouse to work right for now. Any help would sure be appreciated.

I received the KB and Mouse from Dell after I received the 9400. I did not get the receiver with the bundle. The mouse P/N is DH 956 and the KB P/N is DH953.

The link which I gave http://www.dev-hack.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1297 you can stop vista drivers and force widcomm drivers to work and I have also seen one instance where clean installation of Vista has worked but in that case you have to care of data you have in computer....
