Bitdefender updates and regular Windows updates not Updating

My biggest concern at the present time is, I'm currently using Bitdefender Total Security 2010, and lately when I try to update my

Microsoft critical updates and the virus definitions, a message of, "An error occurred during the update (invalid server or proxy settings) If the problem persists, please check our online support website at.....".

Otherwise, when I attempt to download Windows Updates, it provides more or less the same error message or problem.

Provided below is a scan I did from Hijack This. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be very appreciative. Thanks in advance anyone that can help!!!!!!!

To fix Windows update go to WINDOWS SOLUTION CENTER.  There you can email your  windows update problem to a microsoft pro free of charge. The turn around time is usually about 24 hours. I have used it on 2 different occasions and had 100% success.

Ron,  I read about that and promptly forgot it.   Excellent catch.  :emotion-2:

A recent update to BitDefender caused major headaches for systems running a 64-bit version of Windows, so is that part of your problem?

But we don't know if the OP has 64-bit Windows...
