Aurora R12 - Windows 11 install fails

Hi, I'm trying to upgrade to Windows 11 my Aurora R12. Specs:

CPU: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700F @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti

Windows 10 Pro
Version 21H1
Build 19043.1806

Windows Update does not show the option to update but, according to this list, my PC is supported.

PC Health Check show me is possibile to upgrade so I tried to do it manually through the Windows 11 Update Utility from Microsoft but the installation fails around 75% with no errors.

Is there anything I can do to solve the issue?
Thanks

The dump file seems to indicate cbservice.exe which is part of Cobian Backup Service.  You might check for an update or uninstall it for the time being.

I will check the other files in the next few hours so you may want to wait to see if I find anything there.

It's not Cobian Backup Service, never heard about this software and never installed.

cbservice.exe is Chaos Cosmos Browser Service, part of the V-Ray software suite. Do I have to uninstall it?

Upgrade complete!

Removing cbservice.exe Chaos Cosmos Browser Service did the trick.

Thanks for helping!

You probably know you need the system to be using UEFI Secure Boot with the CSM disabled.  In addition, you need a TPM 2.0 enabled.

When you try the upgrade, it should give some type of error.  If it does not, all I can suggest is go the linked site and download and run the setupdiag.exe utility.  It will create a folder containing files we may need and a report you can copy and paste.  The utility depends on an upgrade being tried recently so it can gather the necessary files.

The report might help but we may need additional files from that folder, like the setupact.log.

Thanks for helping.

The upgrade to W11 fails at 75% with a bluescreen INVALID_DATA_ACCESS_TRAP error.

I run the setupdiag.exe you linked but I cannot copy and paste or attach files here. How can I share the Logs.zip with you safely?

Here you can find the Logs.zip:

Also checking the setupmem.dmp:

I tried the list of commands but it's still disabled:

REAGENTC.EXE: The Windows RE image was not found

EDIT: I successfully enabled the recovery option

OK, if the upgrade ever completes, it may repair that problem. Since I have not found anything other than the dump file indications, it may work if that problem is taken care of.  Otherwise, we will try to find the location of the Winre.wim file which should be in the Recovery Tools partition as indicated in my listing.  This command would be used to do that so check out the help file for it.

REAGENTC.EXE /setreimage /?

In addition to the dump file, you seem to not have your recovery options configured.  If you want to check, open an admin command prompt and type the command below.  If it comes back as disabled, enter the two commands below that and check again.

reagentc /info

reagentc /disable

reagentc /enable

If it still shows as disabled, we may need to try to locate the Winre.wim file and set a path to is for that system.  This may not be causing the upgrade failure but still needs to be repaired.  If you feel any of this might be related to your Backup software, then please advise.

That is good.

It appears the cbservice.exe is related to the OneDrive Backup process.  I am currently comparing what my log shows regarding this situation.  I do not have OneDrive configured to be used as a recovery source.

It' enabled now, this is what I get:

C:\Windows\System32>reagentc /info
Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) and system reset configuration
Information:

Windows RE status: Enabled
Windows RE location: \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk0\partition1\Recovery\WindowsRE
Boot Configuration Data (BCD) identifier: e44f3a17-fc65-11ec-acc8-900f0c205f10
Recovery image location:
Recovery image index: 0
Custom image location:
Custom image index: 0

I'm now trying to run the Windows 11 Install Assistant again and see what happens.

I still cannot find anything for sure that shows as breaking the upgrade.  The dump file might seem to indicate something with OneDrive.  You have two users which do not show a problem with their user profiles but maybe there is some type of corruption in the OneDrive process.  This is just a guess but that is all I can do right now.

Upgrade failed again at 75% with same error: INVALID_DATA_ACCESS_TRAP

Uninstalling the cbservice.exe and trying again with the upgrade. Let's see what happens.

Thanks
