17 R2, Windows 11 support?

Windows 11 is slowly rolling out, and most if not all computers nowadays can run it. There's one little issue stopping most computers, which is the TPM requirement that most computers don't choose to have or default on. Because i always like being latest with my windows, i was curious and looked around the bios for what could possibly be anything related to the TPM and i couldn't find anything. I saw something in the device manager to enable it but i dont think it works by itself. I haven't done a bios update in a long time because the last time i did one it stuck my computer at a black screen for 1-2 hours and i had to let it drain out to fix it. Is there a way to get support for TPM for the 17 R2? Thanks.

The 2015 17 R2 is not on the Alienware Laptop Windows 11 tested/validated list. This means that we are not going to create a new BIOS or drivers to address issues encountered trying to use Windows 11.

It seems to be a secure boot option where if you disable it it should allow you to configure tpm.

Well that's lame. There's zero reason why these devices can't run Windows 11. Poor support all around. Even a Macbook would be getting an update 7 years later.

Keep in mind that this is not a Dell decision. MS has stated that any CPU pre-gen 8 will not be supported. Which means all manufacturers are in the same boat with older processors. Can you run Windows 11, probably. I have a Latitude E5430 running Windows 11 just fine. And I have TPM 1.2. But as @DELL-Chris M has stated, Dell will not be offering support for a system that does not meet MS requirements. So should you require Dell tech support, they will insist you install Windows 10 before offering any assistance. Now Windows 10, a stable and very good OS, support ends in 2025 and due to the age of your system you will probably be upgrading by then to a new system. But if you want to run Windows 11 do a YouTube search as there are many videos on installing Windows 11 on non-supported systems.

As far as TPM is concerned, have you looked at the BIOS for a setting named PTT? It should be enabled. This web page may help.
