What is a file named 'PO.CXML' in images folder?

If we see the VxRAIL 3.5 FRU Node Replace Procedure provided from SolveDesktop. We can see the following description.

c.Right click on “EMC******service-datastore1” and select “Browse datastore”.

d.In the images folder, if there exists a file named ‘PO.CXML’, please download it to a local folder to backup the file for later use:

Actually, I couldn't discover a file, which is named 'PO.CXML' in images folder, on VxRAIL 3.5 code. Could you please let me know about what the file is? And  could you please tell me about where I could get the file?

Thanks!

For VxRail systems that were build in the factory at v3.5, there is a new file that is place don the system during the imaging process. This file is: PO.CXML I have not seen the contents of said file so I'm not certain of all its contents, however as I understand it, the file contains purchase order information that is used during the system build process. When we perform a node replacement, we want to propagate that PO information forward onto the replacement node.

Hope this helps.

Hi giadarola,

Existing VxRail 3.0 user don't have the po.cxml files, is it no problem ?

If need,  am I able to get the po.cxml file by SR?

Correct. v3.0 systems do not have the PO.CXML file and no, you cannot get the file from Support via an SR. If the system started life as v3.0, then there will be no PO.CXML file as that was introduced in the v3.5 time frame and is only created in the factory.

You will not need it.
