VxRail manager page not found

Good day

Any idea how to fix the page not found below.  It did work on the below ip and after the necessary reboot it happened.

Is there a new vxrail ova that I can deploy or will a system reset work.

The VxRail 60 is not yet in production.  Happened during the initial setup

No webpage was found for the web address: https://192.168.100.200/ HTTP ERROR 404

Thank you

Please open an SR with VxRail Remote Technical Support.

I'm curious if there was a resolution to this? I have the same problem and I'm assuming you might have done the same thing I did, which is changing the IP address of the VxRail Manager to something that's actually on your network (without DHCP) rather than setting it up with the default address schematic.

I used this guide:

VxRail 3.5 Deployment to VLAN without DHCP and changing the Initial IP for VxRail Setup | Phil's Splice

And when I was finished, I navigate to the page, and it gives me the standard "privacy error." So I click Advanced and command my computer to proceed to this dreadfully unsafe website, after which I receive a 404 Error.

As an EMC partner, I'm borrowing a Demo unit from Avnet, and DellEMC support refuses to open up a request unless Avnet calls it in.   We only have millions of dollars of VxRail proposed right now...no need for us to understand how to deploy them!

Thanks!

Hi

Never could find out the problem.  Did a rebuild of the vxrail and then all worked.

To reset the VxRail, you need to download/install EMC SolVe Desktop and download updates for the VxRail Platform. Make sure you choose the correct SW and HW version. It is located under "CS/PS Field Procedures"  --> "Restricted Procedures - NOT FOR PRODUCTION SYSTEMS! *DATA LOSS* " --> "VxRail Gen 2 Appliance v3.5 Factory Reset Procedures"

Again, you might have Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3, or v3.0,v3.5,v4.0. The reset procedure requires VPN or Local Access to the machine and can take up to 3 hours. You also need Python for running scripts.

The reason I had this problem in the first place was because I was changing the IP address of the ESXi node(s) to get them onto my network. If you change an IP address on any of the VxRail nodes manually, it will break the VxRM web page. I don't know why, but after about a dozen appliance resets, I finally figured out that was the problem.

Since I didn't have a DHCP server, the appliance defaulted to 169.x.x.x / 16 addresses. I thought I needed to bring it onto my network to be able to access VxRM, but that's not the case. You just need to connect to the hosts on 169.x.x.x locally if any changes are required. A change might be, for example, if vLAN1 is disabled on the network that you're deploying the appliance on. Since this is VxRail's default vLAN for the VMNetwork, then you won't be able to access VxRail Manager because you're trying to pass VLAN1 traffic on a network that has VLAN1 disabled. So logging in to the ESXi nodes on 169.x.x.x/16 (assuming you don't have DHCP), and changing the VLAN for the VMNetwork might be necessary, however don't ever change the IP Address of the host itself as this will break VxRail Manager's Web GUI for whatever reason. Allow VxRail Manager setup to change any IPs during the initial configuration process.

Thanks a lot, I managed to find this document yesterday night but I am trying to reach how to classify the VXrail version , as this is a very early box will be used as POC , I believe it's Model# 160, but available on the SolveDesktop

Thanks.

I was able to access my hosts after I followed this instruction.

However with the SolVe desktop, I am required to use a key. What's this key about and how does it make me able to get the VxRail manager back up?

Also, from the hosts I noticed that the VMs are in the datastore but greyed out when I try to register existing VMs. Is there any way to fix this?

Hi,

Which version of the software are you using? Is this a new install or was it working previously? If it was working previously did anything change? It may be something that a reboot fixes or it could be something that needs phone support to remote in.
