Target version of VxRail

Hi All,

I need to know which vxrail Version is the target version now to upgrade cluster of 4 nodes from version 4.7.536 to it safely?

Also need to know the minimum utilization resources for the cluster to can perform upgrade smoothly and enter nodes maintenance mode during upgrade without downtime.

Thanks.

From product perspective, the latest version is always recommended version.

But If you are worried about failure of upgrading by unknown defect or issue, i would target to the latest - 1 version.

And during upgrade task, VxRail LCM rolling reboot to upgrade ESXi one at a time.

So you would prepare N-1 resource resiliency during upgrade task

Dear Sam & naoyuki,

Thanks for your replies.

I have reviewed the 2 KBs but without finding a specific mention about target version. also the latest version was released only 5 days ago and the latest -1 *7.0.370* is deleted. Also versions 7.0.320 & 7.0.350 were had a security vulnerability in vCenter 7U3c which is fixed in vCenter 7U3d which included in VxRail version 7.0.370 and later. Also version 7.0.360 is only for RASR not LCM upgrade.

So if I decided to upgrade to the latest - 1 version as mentioned, which version will be the best or recommended to use now?

As you found, the latest version is 7.0.371

7.0.370 was removed because of critical issue.

7.0.360 is only for shipping version so no VxRail can be upgraded to this version.

so i suppose 7.0.350 can be good candidate for you.

Just note, if you have dialhome enabled  via SRS, you will need to change to secure connect gateway starting with 7.0.350 and later.
